There are some places in Italy that should be visited at Christmas time at least once in a life. I think that the city of Locorotondo in Puglia is one of those.
I have been completely overwhelmed by the infinite lights that have invaded the streets of Locorotondo. This corner of the Itria Valley is now ready to welcome Christmas with white light bulbs, red bows and gold garlands that hang everywhere above your head.
It seems that Santa Claus has come here and colored everything with his magic.
Each alley is so astonishing and so homey at the same time. While walking around the borgo you can feel an unreal stillness that seems to freeze the atmosphere, like in a fairy-tale.
So, if your Christmas spirit needs to be enlightened a bit, a little trip to Locorotondo is surely the solution. It has worked for me!
